Home Practice Series Class 4: Aromatherapy for the Water Element

This month we are swapping out one Thursday community acupuncture night with this series of workshops designed to help us care for ourselves at home. Stress is everywhere, there is no way around that. However, we do have many tools techniques to share with you that will help: manage stress, invite joy, boost immunity and build trust with your own body.

Join Masha Schmidt, L.Ac for a workshop on how to safely and effectively work with essential oils this season.

We will explore aromatherapy for the Water Element - which is a time to nourish and tend to our deepest reserves of Qi. The Water Element corresponds to the Winter Season and the organs of Kidneys, Adrenals, and Bladder. In this workshop we will explore how aromatherapy can support us in processing fear, supporting our adrenals, and working with the energy of Winter.

Topics covered:

Water Element Energetics + Care Strategies

Acupressure points for adrenal support + alchemizing fear

Essential Oils: Fir, Geranium, Juniper, and Pine

All materials included in the workshop, and you will have the opportunity to purchase some of Masha’s favorite essential oils for home use. You will go home with a custom made 10 ml aromatherapy roller!

$45 for the workshop, oils range in price.

Gather + Grow Afterschool

Gather & Grow Herbalism Afterschool Program with Christina Noyes @ Daydream Clinic in Beacon

Do you have a kid between the ages of 7 and 13 who likes to ask questions, make messes*, and try new things? Gather & Grow’s after school herbalism program is the perfect place for them to do these things – and more! –  in a supportive environment.

Throughout the program, kids will explore the question, “How can we use what we are learning to take care of our community?” culminating in a collaborative, experiential project based on their ideas. We will learn about body systems, make herb crafts such as salves and hydrosols, and explore what it means to be “healthy”, in our bodies, relationships, and communities. Along the way, we will uncover and explore various lessons plants have to teach us about being in better relationships with each other and the land.

*and clean them up!

Sessions will take place at DayDream Collaborative Clinic in Beacon (544 Main St) on Monday afternoons from 4-5:30. They are facilitated by Christina Noyes, an elementary educator and herbalist passionate about contributing to a thriving herbalism and community organizing ecosystem grounded in reciprocity, respect and liberation.

Dates: 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, and 11/11

Please bring a yoga mat, pillow, and an object or talisman that to you represents The Divine. Please do not attend this session if your intention is to connect with a wrathful or malefic energy / entity.

Ear Seeds + Ear Beads Workshop at Witch Hazel
Jun

Ear Seeds + Ear Beads Workshop at Witch Hazel

Our ears are a microsystem of the body and contain hundreds of points that can benefit our health. Ear seeds or beads are an acupressure technique that involves placing a tiny bead or seed on the specific points in the ear that help with stress, build immunity, ease pain, and calm the nervous system. The beads/seeds are held on with tape and you can keep them on for 2-3 days, lengthening the effect of the treatment.

Join Masha Schmidt for a workshop to learn about the ear seeds and ear beads, and how they can help you feel better fast. We will cover the history of ear acupuncture, an overview of ear points, and how to locate and place the beads for maximum benefit. This workshop is suitable for everyone with the desire to take good care of themselves and their families/friends. It is not meant to be a training for practitioners or as professional development.

All materials provided + you will go home with ear seeds to practice.

Creativity Clinic with Lauren - Fire Element // Art as a portal for dreaming new worlds

As we work toward collective liberation, are we taking the time to really imagine new worlds?
Creativity desires spaciousness— room to welcome it in, where inspiration can spark and be noticed. In this offering we invite space to nourish the connection to your creative self through acupuncture, rest, artmaking, and community.

Join us for this special edition of creativity clinic - focusing on the Fire Element and taking a necessary pause to reimagine this painful world as a world of peace. We will receive a seasonal acupuncture (or acupressure) protocol, flower essence, and aromatherapy chosen with the intention of nourishing the Heart and downregulating the nervous system.

Feel free to bring your favorite sketchbook/journal if desired. Art supplies will be available.

Creativity clinic monthly offering is open to all people, artists, creatives, activists, and makers. You do not need to identify as an artist to explore the dreamspace with us.

Sessions are $75 and include materials. Sliding scale options: $75 is the cost of the session, $60 is for those who need assistance, and $45 is for those who are struggling. To utilize the sliding scale - use the code '60' for the middle tier $60 session, and code '45' for the low end of the scale $45 session.

After your session you will receive an email with seasonal inspiration, playlist, and journaling prompts.
