Gather & Grow Herbalism Afterschool Program with Christina Noyes @ Daydream Clinic in Beacon
Do you have a kid between the ages of 7 and 13 who likes to ask questions, make messes*, and try new things? Gather & Grow’s after school herbalism program is the perfect place for them to do these things – and more! – in a supportive environment.
Throughout the program, kids will explore the question, “How can we use what we are learning to take care of our community?” culminating in a collaborative, experiential project based on their ideas. We will learn about body systems, make herb crafts such as salves and hydrosols, and explore what it means to be “healthy”, in our bodies, relationships, and communities. Along the way, we will uncover and explore various lessons plants have to teach us about being in better relationships with each other and the land.
*and clean them up!
Sessions will take place at DayDream Collaborative Clinic in Beacon (544 Main St) on Monday afternoons from 4-5:30. They are facilitated by Christina Noyes, an elementary educator and herbalist passionate about contributing to a thriving herbalism and community organizing ecosystem grounded in reciprocity, respect and liberation.
Dates: 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, and 11/11
The cost of the program is $300 per child, which includes materials. Kids will also take home the things we make to share with their family and friends. Please reach out if this is cost prohibitive.
